The Penan people need our help.

Dear people,

Ive not been updating my blog for months since Ive started.or perhaps I was busy procrastinating. But today, I decided to take some time off to write this post but it is not about myself.

Please read on.

Earlier today, I received a message from a close friend, Sidneswaran or better known as Noel or Sid who is seeking for help in his Penan Expedition this coming weekend.

The Penan people need your help.

This coming Friday, Sidneswaran and his family members Noortasha Devi (sister)& Justin Ravi Choo(cousin) will not be spending their Raya holidays visiting Hari Raya Open Houses to enjoy delicious raya delicacies but will be going into the deep Sarawak jungle to visit & give out donations to the Penan people for a week.

They did the same last year, and they are going again this year to fulfill their roles in contributing to the community, independently. I wished I could joined them this time. It would be a great experience.

In short,

They are our own fellow Malaysians that live in the jungle that have been forgotten/overlooked/ignored by the our government, or the Sarawak state govt to be precise.

The Penans have been hit by diseases due to malnutrition as they aren't able to hunt properly anymore due to excessive logging and damage to the rainforests.

Theres also news about the Penan school girls, who, as they live far away from their school..have to walk far distances to school. Due to the distance, they get lifts to school from truck drivers who carry timber only to be raped by these truck drivers.

Their land has been taken away from them by the Sarawak government as they did not claim for their land before our independence when it was made into law that it was required to do so. Of course, living in the jungle they didn't know about having to do such things.

SO they are slowly losing their home to the timber companies & government who cut down these forests. Yet, they have lived in these places for CENTURIES. Now their home is no longer theirs.

Also, as they live in the jungle, they have no knowledge of having to have an IC, and documents such as those because they have never been told about it. That basically means they are not able to have the basic rights of Malaysians when needed. Healthcare & Welfare which would even be enough for them to survive on as the M'sian govt does provide welfare to individuals earning less than RM1800 a month, is not possible.

So, in short... No food, no education, no home & no identity.

And you thought your life sucked. think again.

According to them, you will never meet other people who are as pure, honest & kind hearted as these people. It could be that their simple way of living makes them happy and as such they don't have any wants, needs, problems, & material needs such as us.

Love for one another and for the life they lead is enough for them. They find joy in small & simple things so maybe we can do our part & make their lives better even just for a while.

We're asking you, as no one will fight for these people, will you fight for them?

If you would like to donate & help in some way, we'll be collecting donations by Thursday night.

We can meet up at SS2 Murnis during dinner time at 7.30 till 9.30 on Thursday.

OR, if you can't meet on Thursdays, you can arrange with any of us to our convienience.

OLD TOYS, CLOTHES, TOILETRIES (toothbrush,toothpaste) & MONEY to be bought for food, medicine and also sponsoring the kids to go to school by paying for their school fees.

We would ask for food to be brought over there but it would be too heavy to bring it over from KL so we'll be buying food & rice with the donation money and also giving them the money to get the food on their own.

This could be our small act of kindness to our fellow Malaysians, the Penan people, for now. Whatever you take from this message, good or bad, I just hope that you're reminded of how grateful and lucky we all are compared to those less fortunate.

And knowing that, we could all at least be happy with our own lives, spare a thought for those who have so much less & make this world a better place! We have the ability to do so.

A little goes a long way and I sincerely do believe that slowly, we'll be able to help the Penan people find their rightful place in society & create a sustainable future for them.

Maybe one of us would go on and write petitions and eventually force the government to do something, or even by writing on blogs, writing to the newspaper, creating a video, or by passing the message on to someone who has the power to change & is willing to make a difference would go a long way to helping them.

So I do hope you guys will be inspired to help those in need & do something good whatever it may be. It is not necessary to donate for this cause but I do hope some awareness is created and that is enough to inspire you all to do some good somewhere =)

Berhati-hati di jalan raya, lighting does strike twice.

A very good friend of mine, Ammanjit Singh who is, in fact a friend whom i've known for more than 10 years =)

He got into into 2 accidents, not ONE but TWO in the period of less than 24 hours in fact.

I texted him this afternoon to ajak him for drinks tonight as he live near my neighbourhood.he replied and told me he was not fit to come out. In addition to that, he told me he got into an accident the night before. He was on a bike when someone hit him (his bike), and result from that hit, he flew and fell on the road. His elbows, kneews, and ankle were badly bruised and so I told him to stay home and will visit him someday.

Then later at night, Shelton texted me on msn and told me that Singhy got into accident and asked me what happened. So I told him lar that he was on the bike and got hit from the back. But, Shelton told that he got into a car accident and it was today. I was shocked and called that unlucky fella again..

This time the car he was driving was banged front and back. He claimed that the car in front jammed break and another car from the back hit him when he brakes as well. *typical story*
Anyways, there was an argument that involved all parties and also Singhy's sidekick, Jesvin King aka Bhai, who was also in the car.lol.

Anyways, that is all I know about his situation and would suggest someone to buy him some flower petals for him to shower with. Perhaps that will help him to get rid of his bad lucks.

RUUMmates Meet and Greet Session

Before I begin to tell you about the 'Ruumates Meet and Greet Session" Event, I am sure most of you are not aware or familiar what is ruumz is. So, allow me to do some introduction...

ruumz is Malaysia's 1st full fledged social network portal that provides users whom are called ruumzsters. These users will then able to chill, hang out, invite and meet friends. So yea, it may sound like another Friendster or Facebook thingy. But hey, there are some differents and I signed up too. Few of the interesting features that I liked are that you will be able to get your own designated URL for your account and also my fav, it that there is ruumz.FM, a online radio broadcast by the Bling Brothers featuring Fly Guy and Ross. Next, going on about the event.

My friend, Tsu Yi invited me to accompany her to this event by ruumz on the 25th May 2008 which was held at the rooftop garden of Green Packet HQ in Jalan Templer and I was able to catch the view of Petaling Jaya from there.

Surprisingly, I found out that this event was coordinated by Jiggee Events , a company that I used to work before as an event coordinator. The man himself, Jiggee Jon was the emcee of the night while the crew Linda and Jeya were there too. It was great to meet them there.

This was a launching event to announce the 20 Finalist for the Most Wanted ruumate Campaign. These 20 finalist which consist of 10 guys and 10 girls were selected from nominations received across the nation.

The ruumzsters are able to cast their votes and the decide their most desirable ruumate who were chosen by an equally diversed panel of judges comprising of ruumz.FM Bling Brothers, Fly Guy and Ross, actress-cum-VJ Sarah Lian, editor-in-chief of FACES magazine Lu Jing Shia and journalist-cum-journalist of The Star, Niki Cheong.

These finalist that were shortlisted from a pool of candidate ranges from law grads, popular bloggers, manicurist and even a magician and all the guests were mingling and a there was a small session of networking going on.

Later, the emcee, Jiggee then began the announcement and started to introduce the finalists and questions were being asked too. Besides, they were required to do some cat walkings and also simple dancing.

hi there.

today is 1st of june 2009 and this is my first official post on my blog.

maybe some of you will wonder why i began to start this at the first place.in fact, i would never thought that i will have a blog on my own one day, but recently.. the interest just sparked.

Well, there are few reasons actually that drives me to start this, hope you will bear with me as I would like to welcome you to my journey.

- life on the high speed track-

I wish that this blog able to keep and treasure the memories of my walks of life;as I would love to share the bits of up and down of mine and also hope that this journal will remind me of the great times I had with my loved ones: my family and relatives, my buddies and the great friends i have. To be honest, I have a great number of friends around that grew with me over couple of years.

Also, i hope this blog will serve for those who wants to know me as a person and i always welcome new friends into my journey of life. I always believe in good friendship and I never restricted myself from knowing more people.

In this blog also, I would love to share with everyone on my personal views, interests, passions and my vision of life as I go through this journey.

I will be officially 23 years old by end of this month. I often sit down and ponder how my life was and what is the future is gonna be like for me...but everytime when i stop pondering and open my eyes and look..what really matters is the PRESENT; the people around me, the responsibility that i carry and the goals to accomplished in order to go forward in every step.

-Yesterday is HISTORY, The Future is a MYSTERY, Today is a
PRESENT...So, treat PRESENT as a PRESENT-

It is sometimes good to look back and see how and where you came from, and for me..there have been great changes and also, couple of not-so-great changes in my roller coaster life which have gave me a great impact of who i am today. but the multimillion question is, who and what the future will be?

My Ans: The best way to predict your future is to invent it. The process of inventing involves a lot hardwork, time, effort and not forgetting HOPE and LOVE. Thus, along the way the fate of God will show you the right way to the journey.
